The Balloon Project is a theatrical collaboration between the Department of Theatre and Dance and Patch Theatre Company exploring theatre-making using the artistic model of Patch Theatre to create a highly sophisticated visual theatre piece for children 3-8 years old.Alongside this theatre there will be a roundtable discussion on the early arts as well as workshops designed to explore how drama-based instruction can be used to extend the audience experience. The Balloon Project will bring Patch Theatre’s Artistic Director Dave Brown to Austin to work alongside UT students and faculty from the Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities program as well as throughout the Department of Theatre and Dance.
